Association
Boavizta is a professional collective committed to making digital technology more sustainable. Today, our association brings together over 200 volunteer members, all driven by the same passion: assessing and reducing the environmental impact of digital technology through the creation of digital commons and open-source tools.
Our story
Founded in 2020 by a group of committed individuals, Boavizta was born from a clear mission: to advance the assessment of environmental impact of digital technologies by developing accessible, reliable, and shared resources. Our goal? To make these tools indispensable for organizations, empowering them to align their digital practices with planet’s limits.
Our mission and values
Explore our mission, values, and concrete commitments in our Manifesto and 2024 Annual Report. Our work is built on four pillars:
Openness (open source, open data, Creative Commons)
Scientific rigor
Collective intelligence
Tangible impact
The Board of Directors
Boavizta is led by a Board of Directors made up of 12 volunteer members, elected for renewable two-year terms during the General Assembly by all Boavizta members. Their role is to ensure the association’s long-term sustainability, oversee strategic projects, and uphold its core values.
Beyond the Board, every Boavizta member is encouraged to actively contribute to the life of the association, whether by joining projects, proposing initiatives, or sharing their skills. Open and voluntary engagement is at the heart of our collective energy, and everyone is welcome to get involved in ways that suit their interests and availability.
